Donations
Monetary donations: The library is always seeking financial donations to help us provide the best possible service to our community. Checks may be made to Philmont Public Library. Our address is: PO Box 816 Philmont, NY 12565. A donation jar is also available at our circulation desk.
Material donations: Generally, we are unable to accept donations of used books, movies, magazines, and other materials as we do not have room to store them. However, you are welcome to add gently used, clean items to our free cart.
If you have a new item to donate that might suit our collection, please feel free to reach out to us.

Fundraisers
Book-It! 5k Walk/Run Road Race
Philmont and Claverack libraries team up for our Book It! 5k Run/Walk Road Race fundraiser May/June of each year. We are always in need of volunteers to help with registration, refreshments, water stations, and the finish line! Please call the Library or email philmontlibrary@gmail.com to sign up to volunteer.
Our 2026 Book It! fundraiser was a huge success! Thank you to our volunteers and many race participants, and the Claverack Free Library for their generous partnership.
Friends of Philmont Public Library
The mission of the Friends of Philmont Public Library (FOPPL) is to raise funds and public awareness to support the services and programs of the Library. Friends of Philmont Public Library is a 501(c)(3) organization.
FOPPL supports the Library by sponsoring programs, purchasing equipment, and other areas that are suggested by our membership. Our membership will work to raise funds for these endeavors.
FOPPL is seeking members to join the organization. As a member, you can volunteer to help us raise funds, or you can remain a silent member. Membership dues are $5 annually, or $25 for a lifetime membership.

Friends Annual Winter Soup Sale Fundraiser
Every winter, the Friends of Philmont Public Library organizes a Winter Soup Sale fundraiser. Dozens of volunteers make homemade soups for purchase. Soups are sold in pint and quart containers. Desserts are also offered for sale.
